Environmental Health & Safety Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager with experience in the construction industry to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of health and safety within our organization. The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs that comply with OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and workers' compensation laws. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills with a commitment to fostering safety while working in a construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures that support PMI and PCM’s safety commitment of promoting communication, compliance, and compassion all tied together with respect.
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Lead weekly company-wide safety meetings, providing ongoing education.
  • Provide training and development programs on preventive safety practices, first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures.
  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding EHS issues, providing guidance on best practices in construction environments.
  • Develop and coordinate emergency response plans and conduct drills to prepare employees for potential emergencies.
  • Conduct regular job site safety inspections to identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and to promote a culture of safety.
  • Manage multiple site safety representatives.
  • Conduct internal system audits for policy compliance and employee performance regarding safety requirements.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and corrective actions in accordance with OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain and provide site SDS documentation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to promote occupational health initiatives and ensure adherence to workers’ compensation laws.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to environmental health and safety.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in an EHS role for a construction company is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, workers’ compensation law, and occupational health principles is essential.
  • Strong skills in report writing and documentation are required.
  • Certification in First Aid/CPR is required; additional certifications in EHS-related fields are a plus.
  • Proven ability to conduct training sessions effectively and engage employees in safety initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis for incident investigations.

Required Certifications

OSHA 500 – Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction (Do not apply without this certification)

Highly Valued Training (not required)

  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
  • CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician)
  • CST or CSHO programs via universities or OSHA institute

PMI is seeking immediate hire, full-time Welders and Fitters. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to assemble and maintain piping systems with high precision. The responsibilities include inspecting materials, maintaining tools, performing pre-welding preparations, welding components according to specifications and diligently following safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics
  • Determining the required tools, materials and welding methods
  • Planning, assembling, installing and repairing pipe components and systems according to specifications
  • Inspecting materials, equipment, and tools
  • Maintaining supplies, equipment, and tools
  • Preparing working materials by clamping, cutting or applying chemical solutions to piping
  • Examining completed welds to ensure they are free of defects, smooth, and functional
  • Observing safety regulations

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Trade school diploma or completed apprenticeship preferred
  • AWS certification
  • At minimum, 1-2 years experience preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with welding equipment and processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent technical skills and the ability to interpret schematics

Welder/Fabricator

PMI is seeking immediate hire, full-time Welder/Fabricators. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications. 

  • Responsibilities:
    • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products
    • Utilize handheld tools
    • Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand tool
    • Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods
    • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures 
    • Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff
    • Maintain a clean and safe work area

     

    Qualification requirements 

    • High School Diploma or GED 
    • At minimum, 1-2 years experience preferred 
    • Basic reading skills and must be able to follow directions 
    • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills preferred 
    • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly 
    • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem 
    • High attention to detail and self-motivation skills 
    • Specific technical or vocational training or certification preferred 
    • Work in a team environment and respect all teammates

PMI is seeking immediate hire, full-time general laborers. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to operate various types of machinery, loading and unloading different types of equipment and ensuring that our construction sites are a safe and clean working environment.

  • Responsibilities
    • Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, forklifts, skid loaders and other tools as directed by management.
    • Ability to read a tape measurer.
    • Clean and prepare construction sites as needed
    • Follow all safety procedures on the job site.
    • Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis.
    • Load and unload construction supplies both manually and with the use of equipment.

    Requirements:

    • Valid driver’s license
    • One or more years of experience in construction
    • Ability to travel out of town during the week or on weekends

Project Manager

PMI is seeking immediate hire, full-time Construction Project Managers. Our ideal candidate will have experience in Heavy Civil and/or Industrial Construction. We would prefer that our candidate have a variety of experiences and knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements all aspects of the Corporate Safety Process including the initial conception, implementation, enforcement and monitoring of the complete Safety Program
  • Solicits the input of the safety department regarding what anticipated safety requirements will be needed for the Project
  • Oversees and directs construction projects from conception to completion
  • Adheres to all quality policies and procedures as outlined by Corporate and the customer
  • Reviews the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and subcontractors
  • Oversees all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with safety regulations, plans, specifications and revisions
  • Coordinates and direct construction workers and subcontractors
  • Meets contractual conditions of performance
  • Reviews the work progress on daily basis
  • Prepares internal and external reports pertaining to job status
  • Plans ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
  • Obtains permits and licenses as required
  • Analyzes, manage and mitigate risks
  • Ensures quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
  • Performs other duties as required

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good communication and organization.

  • Must be proficient at scheduling, utilizing Project and/or Primavera software
  • Must be proficient at utilizing estimating software (Sage preferably).

  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process
